THE BRIDGE is an enterprise to promote sustainable design thought, action and education.
It started with the motivation to explore the meaning of sustainability as it was depicted through indigenous living patterns based on the hypothesis that this form of knowledge can enrich the way we practice sustainable design.
The core of the project are five design strategies addressing the individual, communal and environmental scopes, offering an invitation to a holistic, yet applicable, view to sustainability. The strategies are communicated through the bridge workshop, a design workshop, which aims to support the implementation of the design strategies into practical outcomes.
In order to address this goal 'The Bridge' website acts as an open-source site. It comprises all knowledge regarding 'The Bridge' methodology and is an invitation to perform 'The Bridge' workshops and share the design outcomes via the website.
THE BRIDGE was created by Adital Ela while taking part in the Man and Humanity Masters program at the Design Academy Eindhoven.
